I was looking around Amazon's new mp3 site, and I found this gem off of the Brady Bunch CD: Gonna Find A Rainbow. It's actually quite catchy--albeit a little goofy. I like the hippy drippy optimism of the song. I looked it up on the ASCAP site, and found that it was written by Stephen R. McCarthy.
Maureen McCormick and Barry Williams actually can sing, and McCormick has pretty good phrasing. The song is in the key of G and starts out with the Chorus. It then has three sections of Verse/Chorus. McCormick sings the first part, Williams sings the second, and Eve Plumb sings the last part. The last part has a lift, going to G#. I'm not sure if it was just to accommodate Eve Plumb's vocal range, or if it was done to give the song a change of pace since it does not have a bridge.
Eve Plumb is not a singer, but she is game. I empathize with her. I sing just like her!
Oh, I really like Amazon's new mp3 site--not because they are 10 cents cheaper than iTunes, but because all their songs are encoded 256 Kbps.
